Get Ready for National Apprenticeship Week with BTX!

Kickoff: National Apprenticeship Week, 5th – 11th Feb!

Exciting news! National Apprenticeship Week is here, starting Monday, 5th February and the theme this year is ‘Skills for Life’. BTX is all in, ready to support you as you begin your incredible career journey into the construction industry!

What’s so good about apprenticeships?

Apprenticeships have long been recognised as an effective entryway for aspiring tradespeople to gain hands-on training, theoretical knowledge and the opportunity to work with, and learn from, trade professionals. It also provides a foundation to hone your skills further by upskilling with additional and more specific qualifications to allow you to move into more specialised roles later in your career.

Apprenticeships: The New Trend

Apprenticeships are becoming increasingly popular throughout the UK. Almost 60% of students in years 9-12 are considering apprenticeships; 42% are thinking of choosing this route as they want to earn while they learn, while 34% want to learn new skills. Source: UCAS (Universities and Colleges Admissions Service).

Further stats from the Office of National Statistics (ONS) also back these numbers, with 2.4 million individuals considering an apprenticeship as their highest level of qualification. This figure has seen a notable increase, nearly doubling since 2011 when apprenticeships were initially included in the ONS census as a qualification option.

At BTX, we’ll be celebrating all week! So stay tuned and follow us on Instagram for daily updates. @btx_uk
